The medium that the three-screw pump can convey has good lubricity but does not contain corrosive solid particles. The following information is the detailed information of the three-screw pump selection, in which you can know how to choose your three-screw pump.
- Determine product parameters
(1) Determine the applicability of the product.
Get the working temperature information
Get the medium viscosity information
Get the lubricity and corrosiveness of the medium
(2) Determine the prime mover speed.
When the medium viscosity is less than or equal to 380 square millimeters/second, the speed can be selected from 1450r/min or 2900r/min products, 1450r/min is recommended.
When the medium viscosity is greater than 380 square millimeters/second, the speed of 950r/min is recommended.
(3) Determine the product specifications.
Determine the requirements on flow, pressure, and motor speed,
Select the product specifications that meet the requirements by checking the catalog
(4) Determine the type of product.
Determine the installation requirements, the relevant position between the inlet and outlet, and other relevant information.
Determine the description of different products and finally select the reference product code.
- Select the model according to the parameters.
(1) Attention should be paid to the flow velocity at the water inlet of the pump (including the flow in the air inlet pipe) during the selection process. In general, the flow velocity at the inlet side should be controlled at 1m/s when the flow velocity is 1. Only when conditions permit, 1.3m/s can be selected. Models with a flow velocity greater than 1.3m/s are conservatively selected or even not selected.
(2) Since the flow velocity at the inlet of the pump will rise as the speed of the motor increases, the reliability will decrease. Taking into account the reliable operation of the pump, the motor should be selected according to the recommended value provided in the program when selecting the type.
(3) If the lubricity of the conveying medium is better at a temperature lower than or equal to 80℃, it is recommended to select a pump with internal bearings. If the lubricity of the conveying medium is poor at a temperature higher than 80℃, it is recommended that you select a pump with external bearings.
(4) In order to better prevent impurities from entering the pump, it is recommended to use a filter with a 40 mesh filtration accuracy (filter area is 15 times the flow diameter) in front of the pump inlet.
(5) If the required flow rate is accurate and within the range of the performance data table, you can use a variable frequency motor
